Horton St. Michael’s Christian Vision

Horton C of E school is a loving community, where everyone is celebrated and treated with dignity and respect. We aim to use our God given talents to be creative and curious learners about the world we share, enabling us to become people of hope who make a positive and lasting impact on society. We learn to love and value our beautiful school and its surroundings as a part of God’s creation and recognise our role as stewards in this. Through our values, we celebrate and nurture the whole child, helping to build strong foundations and enthusiasm for life long learning.

Our Christian Vision drives our school forward as we teach the children the importance of creativity, hope, curiosity and love.  It is these values which we believe allow all of us to ‘live life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10).

Horton St Michael’s is a place where everyone is cherished for who they are and where everyone can develop their talents and gifts in a safe and fun environment.

Our environment is the envy of many and we use it to it’s full.  We have a beautiful woodland, a wildlife pond, an allotment and even a pirate ship!  All of these places allow the children to flourish and explore; it is not unusual to see children building dens, cooking over a real fire and using sharp tools to create something amazing.  Our children and staff are outdoor people who love learning and creating memories outdoors.

Relaunch of Vision

In September 2024 we relaunched the vision and values for our school.  We revisited our values to ensure that they  reflected the ethos and values that motivate and inspire us. In keeping with our environment we  invited Anthony Hammond, a local practitioner in willow weaving, to join us.  He led us all to weave the individual letters of the four values onto metal frames.  The values can now be displayed around our grounds for all to see.  All children, alongside parents, took part in this fantastic day.
