Kipling Club

The Kipling Club is the after school club at Horton St Michael’s CE First School.  It is governed by a voluntary committee consisting of school staff members and parents.

The Club operates every weekday during term time from 3.10 pm until 5.10 pm at a very reasonable charge.  It is run by two Kipling staff members each evening on a rota basis.  Most staff members have other roles within school  so they know the children well.  All staff are trained in First Aid and Safeguarding.

The children are offered a drink and light snack, e.g. crackers, malt loaf, jam sandwich etc when they first arrive at the club.  Whenever the weather allows, they then have the opportunity to play outside and use play equipment such as bikes and scooters.  Once back inside, the children have access to a wide range of games, toys and craft activities in a safe, happy and stimulating environment.

We  also run a breakfast club, which operates every day before school from 8.00am until 08.35 am.  Children are offered breakfast and can then enjoy playing with a wide range of toys and craft equipment until it is time to go into class.  The club is held in the school hall.

We also offer a number of other clubs throughout the year, including Football Club, Forest School, Dance, STEM and Gardening Club.
