The Local Academy Council at Horton St. Michael’s has a strategic role, with the following key functions:
- To set the aims and objectives for the school
- To set the policies for achieving those aims and objectives
- To set the targets for achieving those aims and objectives
- To monitor and evaluate the progress the school is making towards achievement of its aims and objectives
- To be a source of challenge and support to the headteacher
Our governors can be contacted through the school office, or via email at office@hortonstmichaels.co.uk
As well as attending at least one formal meeting of the Local Academy Council each term, our governors sit on sub-committees which were set up to address specific areas of governance. They also visit school on a regular basis to view things in action.
